This world is an ancient caravan in a dry water-less, desert
One by one everybody starts the never-ending journey
They head towards the moon
From the very start of life they were thirsty for love
And they start towards the Eternal Life Fountain
The love-less caravan believes moon as Love
And eternal water that can quench
the never-ending thirst for divinity in their souls
the never-ending thirst for divinity in their souls
The separation from God is beyond
any tolerance.
Nobody knows God also travels with them in some form
Either as the sand stretch or as the two humped camel
or a sand dune or even a stranger
near any oasis-offering fresh clean water
near any oasis-offering fresh clean water
And sweet dates to subside the recurrent hunger…
A few soul recognize God and stop the journey then and there
And start howling in ecstasy and sob with extreme pain…
The re-union is also unbearable…
They never leave the oasis…
The itinerant never leave the oasis
and sit there in deep penance,
and sit there in deep penance,
Because they can talk to God
and can embrace the Lighted-Figure
and can embrace the Lighted-Figure
only in deeper contemplation.
Sometimes God plays with them
And the oasis shifts to some other place of the desert..
The soul stat the search for it again…
Wandering here and there…
No water no food…
Whole body burning in sun flame…
People call them faqir or faqiran - the mad one
As they laugh and squeal with pleasure sometimes
And the next moment burst out crying,
As they see their Beloved God in their mind’s eye
And they never leave…
They stay in the desert running after their dear mischievous
God!
That they have found Love, Life and God,
They wander in the desert…
The dear God may be anywhere-
Inside the sand dune, in a lost camel, in the oasis,
in the kind words of a stranger
Or even in the chimera…
So they stay…never to leave
The moon journey has come to an end…
The moon is here upon the earth.
