Ashadhi- A missed monsoon

The new found greenery
That I perceive with a grey heart,
May say,
What a welcome...
As i smiled for half an hour
And brooded remembering
My rain !

In front of my eye
Like a magic in a dream
Within an hour
The roots of the creeper
must have found
New flow of water
And must have feasted
Down earth...

But my monsoon is belated
Or is suspended
And a long frozen winter has set in
As i sleep covered with a snow blanket
Still waiting for a blue sky
Soon to be covered with cloud
That rains...

I think
I will wake up
When i hear the sound of the rain...

Everyone smiles seeing you smile
A few can read the dewdrops in the corner of your eyes
And drums, singing raag ashadhi...

Ashadhi- A missed monsoon
